First edition; 8vo; original boards and dust jacket. Inscribed on the front free end paper "Good wishes from Juliet de Key Whitsed . May 1935. An autobiographical account of the author's the service as a 'V.A.D.' (Voluntary Aid Detachment) in the First World War. Whitsed was based in Salonika (present-day Thessaloniki, Greece) from 1917 The story was written from memory with the help of diary enteries and letters. A near fine copy with a little spotting to the edge of the text block , in a near fine dust jacket - spine slightly sunned and a little wear to the extremities.
